What we do

The purpose of this group is to grow in Christ as a Christian Family; to help, encourage and edify each other; to equip ourselves for outreach and personal evangelism and to intercede for the people back in India.

Our Mission

  • To establish and nourish an environment where South Asians in greater Richmond are invited to fellowship and experience the love of God.
  • To equip people of all ages towards Spiritual Maturity through Corporate Worship, Bible Study and Prayer.
  • To rely on God through prayer for direction, conception, planning and execution of the ministries and activities of this fellowship.
  • To introduce people to Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior, and help them grow to be more like him.
  • To be a support group for all South Asian Christians in Greater Richmond, to initiate and encourage other like-minded fellowships in USA.
  • Pray and support missions and God’s work in India and around the world.
  • To be committed to Intercede for the nations.

What we believe

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired infallible Word of God and is authoritative for believing, teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.
  • We believe that the Holy Spirit dwells in those who receive Christ, enabling them to live righteous and holy lives. Holy Spirit convicts, converts and consecrates.
  • We believe that we are saved only by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
  • We believe in the unity of one universal body of Christ with Jesus as our head.
  • We believe that the mission of the people of God is to make disciples, equip the disciples to the work of ministry to share the love of God, be the light and salt making a difference in the world.
  • We believe in miraculous answers to corporate and individual prayers.

Core values

  • We accept Jesus Christ as our chief shepherd and all of us are equal before Him.
  • We value all people as those created in the image of God, fallen yet eligible for God’s redemption.
  • We accept the Great Commandments and the Great Commission as utmost importance. Therefore we are committed to love and serve God, love all people and spread God’s kingdom through Evangelism.
  • We depend on God and seek His Will in all things through Prayer.
  • We subject ourselves to the authority of God’s Word, therefore are ready to learn God’s Word.
  • We acknowledge that spiritual discipline of regular bible study, fasting and prayer are essential for spiritual growth.
  • We remember the roots from which we come from.

Leadership

Suresh Veeravalli

Emmanuel Suresh Veeravalli

Pastor & Elder

Emmanuel Suresh Veeravalli is born in Andhra Pradesh, India. He made the decision to follow Jesus Christ in 1974. Even from a young age, he felt the call of the Lord and started to be actively involved in the ministry of God. He completed his Bachelor’s in Engineering and Master’s in Business Administration and relocated to the United States in the year 2000, along with his wife Hepsibah and daughters, Sharon and Shekinah.

He and his family moved to Richmond, Virginia in 2003 and began a bible study group in their home along with another Christian family. As more families joined, this bible study group was formally established as ‘InHisGrip’, a non-denominational Indian Christian fellowship in 2005. This group of passionate believers has been a source of inspiration and blessing to the Christian community in Richmond and across the country.

"God taught me to be obedient and trust Him in all the circumstances. God is my rock and fortress. I will give all the glory and honor to Him, Amen."

Tagore Netala

Tagore Netala

Elder

Tagore Netala was born into a warm loving family and regularly attended church up to and throughout his years in high school.

"In India I was taught that GOD of the Bible was the only true God, but never embraced Him personally. To get some direction in life I often considered getting serious with God. Time after time however, I procrastinated with that important decision. Even with a move to the US and getting married, a feeling of emptiness followed me. In the same year we were married my wife and I were introduced to a church near our home. There a pastor helped me understand that I was separated from God because of insistence on living life my way, not God’s way. He went on to explain that Jesus has paid my penalty by dying on the cross for me. Furthermore, if I trusted in Jesus’ death to pay my penalty, I could begin a relationship with God and have an assurance of life with Christ after my death. I prayed asking Christ to come into my life and take over because I wasn’t doing a very good job with it myself."

"As a result of the Bible study, I made a whole new commitment to Christ. The inner peace that I was striving for so desperately was finally there. But the greatest thing of all is that I know for certain that I have a personal relationship with God through Christ and have eternal life."
